Sugar Shack Open House

Think Spring! There’s no better sign that spring is right around the corner, than when sap starts running through the majestic maple tree. Dairy Discovery is joining with Wittenbach Wege Center, in Lowell, to celebrate with a Maple Syrup Festival.

Start at the Wittenbach Wege Center on March 12th at 9AM. Travel the trails of the WWC and go back in time and learn how maple sap was harvested and processed by both Native Americans and early settlers with the Lowell Historical Museum and WWC Naturalists.

Afterwards, drive over to Dairy Discovery to see maple syrup being processed in real time! Drive with the caravan of cars back to our maple trees, where you’ll see sap being collected in sap buckets or through our modern “lines.” Come into the Sugar Shack and see the machines we use to boil the sap and produce and package our delicious syrup. Please dress warm and appropriately. Spring also means muddy trails.

Visit Dairy Discovery for a fun filled day this spring!

• Bottle feed a calf

• Learn how cows are milked

• Go for a wagon ride to see the farm and discover how we became environmentally certified.

• Play in the Dairy Fun Zone

• Have a couple of dairy snacks and sample our variety of meats, cheeses, and maple syrup in the Specialty Shop.

• Egg-stra special Easter craft and a take-home goodie bag (children only).

Fall Fun on the Farm

September 24th

Join us for moo-velous, spook-tacular day on the farm. The fun is going to be unlimited and you will want to arrive early so you have time for ALL the fun we are offering. Come dressed for the season.

Shop with our local vendors and through our store (purchases in the store help to support Dairy Discovery).
